Philadelphia, PA – Arbill President and CEO Julie Copeland recently received the prestigious 2009 Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) Leadership Award – an honor bestowed on the woman business owner who has contributed most significantly to the growth and development of women-owned businesses in her community. Copeland, who has been a WBE member since 2005, accepted the award on May 15 at the Annual Women’s Business Enterprise Council (WBEC) Awards Luncheon in Philadelphia. An excerpt from Copeland’s nomination, which was submitted by a fellow WBE member and CEO, states "Julie mentors and assists women business owners in all phases of their business, and provides sponsorship and support at both the regional and national levels."

Another requirement for the Leadership Award articulated by the WBEC is that the recipient must possess executive-level leadership and business acumen. Another nomination excerpt states: "Julie and her team have re-thought and re-designed nearly every process in the company, with strong bottom-line results. Her creativity is tempered with strong operations experience and discipline, creating a winning formula for Arbill and its customers."

The final criterion for the Leadership Award is that the recipient must participate actively in mentoring activities and community service. In addition to the mentoring activities in which Julie participates with vigor, Arbill – led by Copeland – participates in several local and national organizations to support those in need including: SPIN (Special People in Northeast), American Red Cross, Susan G. Komen Walk for the Cure, Manna, Women Against Abuse, and Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission. Arbill also matches all employee contributions.
