Taking Workplace Safety to Heart

It started out as a passion and turned into a mission for Arbill’s leader Julie Copeland. Ms. Copeland’s success story is well known to each Arbill employee who are expected to embrace Ms. Copeland’s vision in their work each and every day. Ms. Copeland’s success story was recently recognized in the October issue of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) President’s Report.

Ms. Copeland’s mission is to “Envision a future in which every single worker makes it home safe every day.”  Ms. Copeland joined Arbill in 1995 and took over the helm as CEO in 2005.  She has not waivered from her vision since that time and remains focused on Arbill’s customers’ needs in order to “make work places safer each and every day”. Ms. Copeland expresses her passion as being

“all about people and their safety.  Keeping moms and dads safe; no one can replace the ability to see, play with , or hug your children.  We protect our clients’ workers so their lives are not impacted by an on the job accident.  I truly love what I do every day”

Ms. Copeland has received both regional and national recognition for Arbill’s excellence, innovation, and growth. She recently received the 2010 women’s business enterprise (WBE) leadership award from the PA-DE-SNJ chapter of the women’s business enterprise council, and was named a 2008 women’s business enterprise star by the women’s business enterprise national council (WBENC), a corporate member organization that is the leading authority on women’s business enterprises.  

Her many other awards on behalf of Arbill include Future 50 companies by SmartCEO Philadelphia in 2012; Brava! Award and names one of the Smart100 – both by SmartCeo Philadelphia in 2011; Pennsylvania’s Top 50 women in business, diversity business’ top business 2006 through 2011; recipient of the Dorothy B. Brothers executive scholarship award and the 2006 women of distinction award by the Philadelphia business journal and the national association of women business owners (NAWBO).

In addition to her board position at Arbill, Ms. Copeland serves on the safety marketing group (SMG) board as Chairman, the WBENC forum Leadership Council, the WBENC Board, the women’s business enterprise council-PA-DE-sNJ council board, and is a member of the young presidents’ organization (YPO). Ms. Copeland is also a frequent speaker on business leadership and issues driving workplace safety and has been quoted in media outlets such as smartmoney.com, forbes.com, entrepreneur, and diversity edge. Ms. Copeland also contributes Blog updates on market trends.

Ms. Copeland’s message is an important one:  Arbill makes sure that every worker makes it home safely to their families every day.  Employees at Arbill know that they make a difference every day.  Today, they impact over a quarter of a million people; tomorrow they will save even more lives by making the workplace safer.
